Procedure for writing a thesis at POM

If you would like to write your thesis at our chair, please apply by 31 March or 30 August for a mentoring position in the following semester.

Please send an e-mail with the following application documents to service[at]pom.tu-berlin.de:

1. Short motivation letter (about 1/2 page) including:

  • Topic preference with reference to our research or teaching topics or choosing a given topic (see below)
  • Time preference (right at the beginning of the semester, only at the end...)

2. Current overview of grades (for Master students please also the BSc-certificate)

Own topic suggestions, also in cooperation with companies are possible. We recommend discussing the scientific fit with us beforehand and clarifying with the company how confidentiality agreements should be handled.

When allocating spots, we primarily focus on study progress, relevance of study profile and topic preference. Special priority is given to graduates of our advanced modules and, in particular, of the practical seminar.

Unfortunately, we can only support a limited number of dissertations each term, so please apply to other chairs as well.

    On-demand ride pooling faces a highly fluctuating demand distribution during the day. Providing a consistently high service level to the customer with cost-efficient use of limited resources plays a major role in staying competitive. Therefore, it is important to know what set of different kinds of employees (i.e. working hours, availability etc.) is needed to fulfill the resulting heterogeneous shift plan.
